You should think of a myspace account as a funny tshirt slogan, and myspace as a pub, and the other people on it as coils of wire, pulsing slightly as they whisper the names of the dead.

You should think of a facebook account as your face, and facebook as a huge mincing machine, and the other people on it as a huge dead mass exerting their gravitional pull on you from just behind the mincing blades.

You should think of a twitter as a little plate with some kitchen roll spread out on it and dampened and each twitter account as a single spire of cress slowly rising out of it and each comment on it as some kind of cancerous growth on your stalk and your twitter feed is where your growths and some of your neighbours growths intertwine and draw you nearer even though the last thing you ever wanted to do was be near them or anyone else anywhere in the world, and especially not on this plate, on this window ledge by the back door.

Do you like Transformers Prime

I quite liked it, but that's probably a bad thing to say to actual Transformers fans

I haven't seen any of it. I bloody loved the previous cartoon series (Transformers Animated) though.

Prime is essentially Transformers, but with any life and colour and fun sucked out of it, and replaced with generic grey jelly

Boo, I wouldn't like that.

At the moment I am collecting the various comics based on the original series. One is tolerable, one is okay, one is utterly fantastic, and one is being published online in 8-page chunks and I'm not really sure what's going on in it. This keeps me going, along with the occasional splurge on reissues of toys I missed out on in the 1980s.

Fortress Maximus is scary. Even without his head on he is nearly as high as my mattress.

Original Brawl is best, particularly when Megatron squodged his head in a comic

Transformers Animated is getting a complete-series DVD set at last, hooray. The first two series were on DVD but were discontinued before I'd got round to buying them all, and the third series was never released, so this is very exciting.

QUOTE (Bruce Sato @ Jul 3 2013, 09:04 AM) *
It is neither of those, but you're close - it is Fortress Maximus, the second-biggest Transformer ever. He was the biggest until a month or two ago, when they brought out a new version of Metroplex which is ever so slightly bigger. I don't think Fort Max was ever given a full release in the UK, though I have a very vague memory of seeing one in Boots of all places, and just the one box took up an entire shelf by itself.

I never had a Jetfire, but I had a Robotech plane of a very similar type. One of my friends had Jetfire and we loved all the red armour bits you got with him.

I remember a boy at school having that, or something like that, anyway. Some huge big grey base of a thing

I've just remembered how you had to put the stickers on the transformers yourself, so all of mine were completely knacked, due to uselessness

Brainstorm, Arcee and Roadbuster. I am resisting the urge to buy yet more; I haven't bought any since the summer and only one since Fortress Maximus, so there are loads that I would like to get. But I must be good.

Your friend probably had Metroplex rather than Fortress Maximus.

The thing that ruined the illusion of Fr. Christmas for me was eggmas 1988 when Santa bought me a load of MASK stuff but I also had Metroplex specifically from my dad. Not mum AND dad. Or santa. Just dad. Hence questions.
