You should think of a myspace account as a funny tshirt slogan, and myspace as a pub, and the other people on it as coils of wire, pulsing slightly as they whisper the names of the dead.

You should think of a facebook account as your face, and facebook as a huge mincing machine, and the other people on it as a huge dead mass exerting their gravitional pull on you from just behind the mincing blades.

You should think of a twitter as a little plate with some kitchen roll spread out on it and dampened and each twitter account as a single spire of cress slowly rising out of it and each comment on it as some kind of cancerous growth on your stalk and your twitter feed is where your growths and some of your neighbours growths intertwine and draw you nearer even though the last thing you ever wanted to do was be near them or anyone else anywhere in the world, and especially not on this plate, on this window ledge by the back door.

My corrupt uncle finally found a copy of Lawrence of Belgravia (with Japanese hard subs for some reason) and it was the bleakest thing ever.

By coincidence, I just started reading this new interview with Lawrence on The Quietus. Not finished it yet. It misses out his one-single post-punk band The Versatile Newts, which is annoying, as I loved that

Dunkirk

Mostly good, occasionally very good. I think Atonement did a lot of the Dunkirk beach stuff more effectively, though

It's quite reassuring to know that if we have any more world wars we can basically just relax and wait for Tom Hardy to win them for us

By some further coincidence I only found that article (which in turn reminded me of the documentary) because I tweeted yr Pork Jam video at M.Berry when he posted a link to the original advert and then B.Stanley liked it and he linked to the article also.

Colossal

Anne Hathaway realises that she is somehow responsible for the giant monster destroying Seoul. You can tell this is the kind of film where they have thought of a really great premise but then struggled to find a way to make an actual film about it, because it frequently makes no sense at all and some of the dialogue is terrible

BUT it is a film about Anne Hathaway drunkenly destroying South Korea and as such I still kind of liked it
