Re: Stabbus
Tested negative today, and feel more or less fine (just a bit tired), so I think that's that. The immersion heater for the hot water tank switched itself off three times (meaning a shockingly cold shower after switch-off #2), and the washing machine blew up for good measure, so it's been a funny day...
Re: Stabbus
The agency's put off the plumbing work in here till next Tuesday, and I've been able to order a food delivery for tomorrow (there's almost nothing left as I was running the fridge down so I could switch it off in my absence), so that's about as much as I could hope for in the circumstances.
Re: Stabbus
I feel pretty much OK at the moment, just mild cold symptoms. I only bothered testing because my sister tested positive this morning (with worse symptoms), and I saw her on Friday. The two friends we also saw on Friday (one of whom spent a long time in here with us as he was helping me measure the l...

I have covid for what might actually be the first time ever. Since I'd been planning on going back to parents for a few weeks in order to avoid mans coming to replace the pipework in here on Thursday, this is rather an inconvenience.

You might already know of this, Bruce, but Goon Pod: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/goon-pod/id1569929507 could be of interest to your good self? Re: When do you begen Christmas-ing?
Approximately half of pre-Christmas is achieved, with the remainder (non-lights decorations for tree, various decorations for house, cards to go up on strings) to be achieved tomorrow. This evening I wrapped all my presents for family, which drove me into my usual state of fury.

I started watching the snooker at the gym, and there was immediately a medical emergency in the audience and play stopped, so they went back to the studio and there was Shaun Murphy congealed in a chair, peevishness and dyspepsia given almost-human form, so I watched something else instead.

1st of December is the earliest day, when advent calendar starts. For me the Christmas is restricted to listening to carols and possibly eating the occasional mince pie until I go back to parents, usually a week or so before Christmas Day. I try to get all the Christmas purchases sorted out by the e...

Re: Soccerball Therad
Having looked into it in more detail, it appears that the distinction wasn't made until the 18th century - the story about the inhabitants of Kent meeting William the Conqueror at Swanscombe and negotiating a settlement is in William Camden's 'Britannia' in the late 16th century, but nothing is said...

Bruce what is difference between Men of Kent and Kentish Men? Men of Kent live east of the Medway, Kentish Men west of it (making me one of the latter).
