Candy comic
Whilst idly looking around for kids comics in the public domain to spoil and ruin with blue language, I re-found Gerry Anderson's 'Candy' comic, which, alas is not in the public domain.
I'd forgotten how unsettling it's Candy & The Magic Toyshop photo strip was to look at!

It's got a Scarfolk-ness to it, that's for sure.
You could imagine the story being about how children should inform on their parents or something.

I'm currently jazzing about with old public domain romance comics (from 'ere: https://comicbookplus.com/?cbplus=romance) , because I'm rather taken with the idea of two people in 1950s America discussing Bruno Brookes, and then concluding their chat with a deep and loving kiss.
Whilst thinking about Bruno Brooks, I expect.
