72 different versions of the storyline with the hidden donkey.
121 Gonch Gardeners.

Gonch Gardener's latest get rich quick scheme involves asexual reproduction on an impressive scale.

excellent

Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
I've now bailed out of two different series of GH due to them both being (on the whole) pretty grim, and I ended up having to watch Threads to cheer myself up.
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
And when I say 'Threads' I actually mean Miss Congeniality.
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
Mr Robson is drunk and banging on about the OFSTED crab people, unlike Mrs McClusky who didn't have the guts to reveal the truth!
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
Grange Hill now feels like a cheapo Grange Hill knock-off. The shots are tighter, the classrooms are rather smaller, and there are only 12 or so pupils in each lesson. The 85% Scouse 15% Londahhn cast is jarring also. Well it is to me, anyway.blombluss wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 10:43 pm Grange Hill has been relocated to... Liverpool?!? :O WTAF? :O And Tucker is in it?!? :O
Um... okay...

I remembered the zany theme tune the moment it started playing, but nothing of the show itself. Although I do also recall the title, due to its annoyingly punning nature

Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.

Oh God.
Peter Serafinowicz did it better with his Michael-6 sketch show character.

Yes, everyone has been pointing out how they seem to have ripped that off, mainly the voice
Why is Diane Morgan always just sort of slightly crap

Was her Philomena Cunk character a talking head on Screen Wipe? I quite liked her on that, but I don't think anything else she's done since has grabbed me.
Also I think I might require a b/f or g/f who is a BBC comedy commissioner...

Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
AI slop has come for Youtube uploads of the entire first series of On The Hour:
See if you can spot the problems with this terrible, terrible thumbnail! (Hint: it's absolutely everything)
The actual show itself seems to be unaffected, although the video seems to at least start with a zooming out picture of a man in a forest for reasons only known to the uploader who nicked the audio from another YT upload which had a more normal thumbnail

I watched the first episode of The Demon Headmaster vesterday. Terrence Hardiman was aces, and Danny John-Jules (in a much smaller role) was piss.
I quite enjoyed it. 7/10.

Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
And yes, just in case you were wondering - the Demon Headmaster uses a Sinclair PC200 in series 2...
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
So basically, the Demon Headmaster *is* Sir Clive Sinclair...
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
Imagine if he sees a kid with a copy of Jet Set Fucking Willy

Ahahahahaha!
That is supoib!
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
He would majorly fuck up Martin Freeman (Chris Curry of Acorn computers / Micro Men) good and proppah!
Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
I didn't know that...
Carry On stalwart Peter Butterworth failed an audition for the 1950 Stalag Luft escape film The Wooden Horse, as he 'didn't look right for the part', which must've been a surprise to him as he actually took part in the real Stalag Luft escape attempt.

Re: Absurd old TV / movie things
I've only managed the first episode, thus far.
