Vroom vroom vroom
Vroom vroom vroom
I am genuinely looking forward to the new F1 season, that kicks off next Sundae.
That is all.
That is all.

i suppose so. Something to watch on my bathday at least.
Hopefully McLaren and Aston Martin and others are more competitive and not The Mercedes Show
Also BTCC is back soon i think. BTCC is good.

Happy Birthday daren
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
I havenae watched the BTCC in years. I really must give it a whirl, this year.
re: F1
I'm hoping this season that Ferrari can get their act together, and deliver a car that can reach three figure speeds.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
that would be a miracle
or the fia doing its thing

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
I saw that Renault are now 'Alpine', which just makes me think of the Talbot Alpine 'supercar'.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
i'm pretty sure my grandad had a Talbot at some point.
Also the old Alpine is a lovely car, rally classic.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
The first car I remember my dad having was a Talbot solara
I don't really know why I remember that

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
But nothing else from my youth
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
It's got too many eyes
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
You can never have too many eyes, David. And that applies equally to cars and... non-cars...

Cthulu bum you!
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
I wonder if I dressed up as a granny*, whether I'd be allowed to play the WEC Le Mans arcade machine on freeplay?

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Prediction: Verstappen spins out on lap 1.
*collective sigh*
Hammy wins at a canter.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
I'd rather Hamilton win for a seventeenth consecutive year than verstappen ever win the thing
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
I'm glad to see that my prediction was yet again BANG ON THE MONEY!
The final 10 or so laps were, unlike Hamilton's tyres, thoroughly gripping.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
It was also good to see that Vettel has 'still got it', and by 'still got it', I, of course mean, crashing into the back of the car ahead of him, and then blaming the other driver. Never change, Seb!
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
The next race is in three-ish weeks time?!? Bah!
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Good stuff to-day, I thought. I must admit that I chuckled a bit when Hamilton knackered his front wing into the barriers in a style not dissimilar to a flustered 90 year old driver in a supermarket car park.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
and still came back to get 2nd
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Troo dat!
And what about poor Bottas, eh? He's just deflated like a large, happy Finnish balloon that has been repeatedly speared by those javelins that Finns enjoy throwing around.

Couple of idiots really
I think it was Ted who said they should both consider themselves lucky to be alive, after what happened in that same place in 94

Perhaps someone can explain this to me
*reads article*
Umm... erm... well... LOOK OVER THERE!
*legs it in the other direction*
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
excellent. hooray for formula 1
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
So Leclerc doesn't start the race, and a knackered wheel screw knackers up Bottas's chances... a helluva race!
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
More exciting every year
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
They'd be more passing opportunities if the race was staged entirely on Peter Hook's 1990s New Order side project.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Joe Saward's Max Mosley obituary is a decent read for fans of the sport: https://joesaward.wordpress.com/2021/05 ... 1940-2021/

Oh no Lewis, you klutz!
Also, those Pirelli tyres... Jeez!

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
So Friday was qualifying for the sprint race that'll decide the positions for the main race?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Oh, okay, then.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Oh, okay, then.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
i don't really understand the point of this
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
f1 i mean etc etc
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Ha!
I thought the sprint race was... okay... and an interesting experiment, I guess.
It just felt like watching the first 30 minutes of a film, and by that point, you've usually got a decent idea of whether the movie is for you, or in this case, which positions the drivers under race conditions are going to finish in.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
What the hell do I know, eh?
I thought Hamilton was rather more at fault than Verstappen for the crash, but Verstappen just expected Hamilton to back out, which is what he's generally been doing. It was a scary and worrying crash, but Verstappen pulls that crap all the time, so if one of the other drivers decides not to back out, then they both have a problem. He needs to realise this. He could've also let his car drift wide rather than going for the apex, but oh no, he couldn't do that, could he?
I don't think Horner with his comments covered himself in glory, either.
It was a shame Leclerc didn't win, but Hamilton, who did seem rather shook up by the crash, did really well to snatch first place from him at the end.

Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Max Verstappen is a great big nob
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Well, yes. Even by F1 standards of general nobbery.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Lovely stuff
lovely ocon
lovely ocon
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
and then they ruin it all in classic fia fashion
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
i assume half a litre of fuel mysteriously evaporated around about the time vettel wore his rainbow t-shirt on the podium
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
i was thinking similar
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Hammy taking to the grid on his lonesome for the restart was both weird and amusing.
Re: Vroom vroom vroom
Ugh, the next race is at Spa, isn't it? And the Spa CEO was gunned down by her husband, after he found her in bed with another woman. Who he then killed, before turning the gun on himself. Jeez!
