i almost opened the shortcut to the final level (which i've never done before), but then getting the key from the first level one millimetre from the final exit on the twelth level i got picked up by a yeti and hurled into a wall for all eternity until dead

I wish they'd included the music from the old free Spelunky in the remade Spelunky because it was so catchy and i loved it
But also yes the new music is good
Also I'm probably currently in my longest spell of not playing Spelunky since the original release of Spelunky, as I didn't bother installing it after upgrading to Windows 10 at the start of the year and it isn't out on Switch yet
Gonna get back into it HARDCORE when it is
Maybe go down an actual mysterious hole to play it
wear a hat
punch a snake
the full experience

I heard spelunky 2 was even harder than spelunky 1 so i'm not sure i'd be able to cope with it at all

My neighbour had one, and I thought it was really cool. I never quite understood why there were so many 2D games on it - You'd have thought 3D would've been its major selling point.

I'm not saying Wolverhampton is behind the times, but our high street branch of Boots still stocks VIC-20 software...

It's under 8 minutes on the PS4. It took me longer than that to coax bloody Olmec down my carefully dug hole

My only two major problems with spelunky are that the dark levels are no fun at all, and also making Olmec fall in the lava is pretty tedious.
Also that some of the configurations in the temple levels genuinely seem impossible (especially ones where you start with mummies on both sides of you, and maybe even one of those stupid anubises above or below you)
Also those worm levels but I suppose they're supposed to be annoying

Have they just released a b&w one, so they can release an updated model with colour six months down the line?
NOTE: I haven't listened to their spiel, so it might be covered there.

I looks excellent, but lack of colour is annoying. It is a "1-bit" console, did I hear that correctly? So by design presumably. But maybe you can't fit colour in to 1-bit games. Given the massive amount of memory fitted to mobile devices these days it does seem a bit weird. The black and white is a turn off.

Oh, it's the display that's 1-bit. Yeah they'll defo do a colour version in future.

Or mebbe they could 'do' a Vectrex and just provide coloured overlays for the games!

On the recommendation of Vom about a week ago, I've been playing hyper light drifter, which is sort of a 2D Zelda game with Fez style aesthetics. I'm enjoying it, but then I just got to a boss which I died on a thousand times so now I'm in a huff.
Actually maybe this reminds me also of axiom verge, which was a good metroid clone with absolutely infuriating bosses that were no fun at all as well
