I thought the last episode was quite good… compared to most other russel t Davis series finales.
The end bit was crap.

As a Philistine, an edited 90 minute version in slightly wonky colour, is very much my thing!

I rather enjoyed it!
But!
I'm an extremely casual Who fan.
It felt rather bitty in places (unsurprisingly).
The modern visuals stuck out horribly, which was lazy on the maker's part.

Hooray, Ryan from Consolevania (who has been put right off the new series) has been compelled to watch Caves of Androzani, and
he enjoyed it. He also has what is the only logical explanation for why Peter Davison's Doctor has so many fillings.

This is apparently not the only film collection known to include missing Dr Who episodes, either, although it sounds as though there won't be any more returned for a while. This guy actually had six episodes on film, but four were duplicates of ones already in the archive.

Fucking hell, Tip Toe is bad. Patronising, out of touch, suffers from odd tonal shifts, and seems to think that transphobes are people who have mild disagreements with pronouns or something. Interestingly, RTD is friends with Helena Bonham Carter, who is a TERF. Colour me surprised...
Not to mention those astonishing comments from Davies, cheerfully reprinted by every single newspaper, that maybe he shouldn't have bothered campaigning for gay rights or some such baffling horseshit. Ian McKellen gets it, why can't RTD? Oh yes, I forgot; Davies is a fuckwit who is completely isolated from modern LGBTQ+ culture and can't write for toffee. I forgot about that detail
Frankly, the entire British TV industry needs to be destroyed from orbit using the massive laser satellite from Akira

I think Balor could have written a better TV show. It would just be him killing absolutely everybody, but it would be better by default

Rumour has it that the bbc were fed up with rtd and told him they were going to offer dr who up for tender in a couple of years time in the hope he would flounce off and they could do it now instead.

Hooray, here is a
Youtube channel for a fellow who is recreating the excellent parping noises of Dudley Simpson's Dr Oho soundtracks. This (or super-weird electronic music) is what Dr Oho should sound like, not the bellowing of I'M MURRAY GOLD.

Yes!
Bruce's comment about Murray Gold touched on something that always bothered me about no-longer-New Who - the weird outbursts of grandiosity and pompousness you'd get in it that felt totally at odds with the original series. Not just the embarrassingly amped up nature of the replacement theme tune but also stuff like "Time Lord Victorious". Like, just the name felt shit
