I have discovered a great site:
https://library.gamehistory.org/
It is a load of scanned documents / video recordings / etc from the archives of various video games devs / companies. They're slowly adding more stuff as time allows.
Here's something I found in a game design document relating to a proposed game from Mindscape called "The Beast", from the mid 90s. It has the most amazing description of anything ever

i bought my dad a couple of niel young albums for his birthday (on the beach and harvest. i'd never really listend to neil young before (except the dead man soundtrack) but it turns out he was pretty good
I've been listening through the "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" list with a friend and this has also led me to properly listen to Neil Young for the first time. "After the Gold Rush" is my favourite album from the list so far that I hadn't heard before, it's wonderful
I had such a Neil Young phase when I was in my teenaged years! I even had physical copies of After the Gold Rush, Harvest, and Rust Never Sleeps, and burned versions of Tonight's the Night and Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.
Also i was told i kinda looked like him when I was boy, grew hair out.

I got a few more neil young albums. the best one is definitey an absolutely terrible one from 2003 or whenever where he is so angry about the iraq war he forgets how to make decent music entirely

It is impossible
He keeps releasing DLC (obscure archival live recordings)

(which you'd expect from the end game stuff, but at the start they maybe should have at least eased you into it a bit, instead of making every single boss do two hearts of damage every hit when you only have five hearts in total)

It's pretty brutal. Basically every time I meet a new boss I consider quitting the game

that was definitely one of the ones i had the most problems with. it took me about 50 goes over two days in the end.
at least by then i could do that platforming bit on the approach really quickly i suppose
