A bit of a 'weeeeep', here.

I was watching Channel 5's documentary about ITV sitcom Man About The House, last night, and I was wondering why Richard O'Sullivan didn't appear as a talking head in the show. So I checked online, and it appears that he's lived in a residential home for entertainers for the past 20 years, since having a stroke at the age of 59.

This has made me sad. :(

If you follow Robin Askwith on X (formerly known as twitter) you will see that he regularly keeps in touch and seems quite chipper.

also Brinsworth House is a pretty nice place in Twickenham so he's doing OK.

and also that for the last 25 years (until two years ago or whenver he retired from radio 2), i went to the same dentist in the same room twice a year and the radio was always playing steve wright while the dentist slowly scraped away stuff from my teeth and that's the only time i ever heard steve wright it was like being stuck in some sort of purgatorial void outside of space and time

I think the last time I heard Steve Wright on the radio was during his R1 afternoon shift days. After that, there was that odd photo of him getting out of his car via the boot, and that's all that springs to mind.

He seemed a decent chap, especially so in comparison to some of his colleagues.

RIP.

How come it wasn't Wolverhampton attacked by a godzilla? It's not fair!

Or at least we could've had those giant worm creachers in Tremors, that would've been something. *sulks*

Those giant worm creachers know that if they ventured onto West Midlands territory, we'd capture them, chip-shop fry them in batter, and eat them. :)
