Re: Bruceday
Hooray thank ye
I have spent the day (and indeed the week so far) doing nothing at all. The post has been very delayed, but at least some of my cards have arrived, so I opened those. I've also been opening the ridiculously huge pile of Transformers that I've been buying but not opening for the last year or so. (And I really do mean ridiculous: over 50 boxes.) I did manage to record my niece's first steps on Skype this evening.
Ehis should be visiting at the weekend, and we'll consume further huge quantities of food and play computer games and watch terrible old cartoons. Rather scarily, we've been friends for exactly 30 years this year. So old.

Also - terrible old cartoons are bets cartoons!
Re: Bruceday
Also - having over 50 unopened Transformers is borderline 'we need to stage an intervention' territory! :p

Re: Bruceday
I may have to buy another bookcase just for them. Although I do also need a new bookcase for books.
I'd replace all my living room shelving and desking if I were ever that confident I'd still be in this place in 12 months' time.

I missed it too. I hope the cartoon viewing is filled with amusing mistakes on behalf of the staff of Ruby Spears, Hanna Barbera, DiC, and Akom.

Re: Bruceday
My sister and I did actually watch two episodes of Transformers this evening, and we always hoot at it immensely. There's one where a 10-year-old boy apparently has the body of a Greek god, and it's hilarious.CandyDarling wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 6:55 pm I missed it too. Why didn't those animation errors end up in 'It'll Be Alright On The Night?' Dennis Norden, you messed up!

Re: Bruceday
Another instalment of Bruceday occurred today: two friends from university came round and we ate pizza and watched Defenders of the Earth and generally had a good time. This is the first time I've had friends round since February 2020, and I have missed it.
Next weekend ehis will be visiting, following a postponement when his son infected everyone with the (non-covid) plague.
