Nina Simone's Gum by Warren Ellis - autobiographical thing about a piece of chewing gum warren ellis stolle off Nina Simone's piano at the end of a gig in 1999. This was good and I liked it a lot
Re: Book Thread 2022
Also nice to discover that the musician warren ellis is a better writer than the writer warren ellis. and infinitely less of an absolute wanker
Re: Book Thread 2022
I read John Cooper Clarke's autobiography, which I received as a Christmas present. It was quite enjoyable. He sure did a lot of heroin!!!
Re: Book Thread 2022
I re-read Terry Pratchett's 'Making Money', a few days back, and was a bit disappointed by it.
Re: Book Thread 2022

Re: Book Thread 2022

Re: Book Thread 2022
My curiosity was piqued, so I had a butchers at this:
Enjoyably crackers!
Is the artwork old and he's repurposing it, or is it just drawn to look old school?

Re: Book Thread 2022
Half of one of the comics is some private investigator man who gets obsessed with pictures of owls
Aylett is apparently only mostly dead (moved to Scotland)
And I think it’s still pictures nicked from old comics like the caterer was

Re: Book Thread 2022
sticking this in the book thread, because it's a bit too grim for the other obvious thread. No wonder they kept it quiet. I used to love those books, too. Grim.

Re: Book Thread 2022
I went to see Garth Marenghi on his subsequent tour, last night. It was very funny and I bought the new book, although I'm not sure if I should read the previous book first as there seem to be some recurring characters and so on. And obviously I'm expecting a completely coherent narrative
Re: Book Thread 2022
I keep meaning to buy those books but also then keep forgetting
