No idea
I think it was a very conveniently timed smoke screen for all the US Supreme Court bullshit

Re: TwitterMusk
I think he's just a massively incompetent idiot who's fucked everything up by firing absolutely everyone who knew what they were doing because he's an arsehole
Re: TwitterMusk
Maybe he's got shares in Bluesky, and he's trying to hobble Twitter?

Re: TwitterMusk
That's because journalists can no longer write anything without using Twitter, so they've been hoist on Jean-Luc Picard.
Anybody who comes into the n3ta forest will be lost.
Everybody will become a Homfrus.
Everybody, Homfrus.
So, he's not here any more.

Re: TwitterMusk
Indeed
Re: TwitterMusk
Sounds a bit rude!!!!!
Re: TwitterMusk
I've seen a couple of creative types saying how the fall of Twitter will damage their communities, and how Twitter enables creativity to spread, grow, and join together. All I can say is, THANK GOD! for n3ta forum peeps giving my stuff a like/retweet on Twitter, because regular Twitter peeps haven't got the slightest interest in what I make / discussing the creative process / collab-ing, etc, no matter how much 'reaching out' *vomits* or trying to join in, that I do.
Is the above ^^^ sour grapes? Yes.
Is the above ^^^ accurate? It feels like that to me, most of the time on there.
And that's ^^^ why, in my opinion, forums are betterer!

Re: TwitterMusk
twitters algorithms basically ensure small accounts never get seen and large accounts always get seen (and instagram and youtube and whatever are probably similar), so essentially there's an in built alienation and marginalisation barrier in every social media platform (that then flips and accelerates popularity if you pass some arbitrary threshold)
Re: TwitterMusk
which is why they always feel like you're shouting/weeping into a void
Re: TwitterMusk
and then twitter even used to basically hide all your friends posts anyway, so it wasn't even useful for seeing what you guys had posted half the time, which was the only reason i ever really had it any way
Re: TwitterMusk
in short, everything is terrible
Re: TwitterMusk
also no one ever actually clicks on links that lead out of social media sites, so they're completely useless for self promotion anyway, unless the thing you're self promoting is your own tweets
Re: TwitterMusk
That sounds about right - ugh!dng wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 8:37 pm twitters algorithms basically ensure small accounts never get seen and large accounts always get seen (and instagram and youtube and whatever are probably similar), so essentially there's an in built alienation and marginalisation barrier in every social media platform (that then flips and accelerates popularity if you pass some arbitrary threshold)

Re: TwitterMusk
Meta / Facebook's announcement seems like it might have been behind Musk's recent shitfit where he said he was willing to fight Mark Zuckerberg in a boxing match or something, like they were a pair of Youtubers. (Male Youtubers, even the normal ones, seem to be going through a phase of having broadcast boxing matches for reasons.)
And yeah, when I heard the accouncement I instantly thought of traffic wardens.
Oh, and Google's webcrawlers are delisting tweets due to not being able to load them, seeing as they're designed to crawl the net anonymously. There is also some sort of misconfiguration where the site is so messed up it keeps sending multiple requests everytime anyone loads a page, so in effect Twitter keeps on repeatedly DDOSing itself. That might be linked to the recent changes.

Re: TwitterMusk
As for fights... if anyone on n3ta wants to take me on at Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots...
Re: TwitterMusk
"Bouncy boxing" is my fight style of choice
Re: TwitterMusk
I wouldn't last a round at that!
Re: TwitterMusk
Unless I was fighting a five year old.
Re: TwitterMusk
In which case, I might make it to the end of 12 rounds, and hopefully scrape a draw.
Re: TwitterMusk
It's a reet laugh, although we had to wear the face protection when i did it. Which is probably wise
Re: TwitterMusk
ves, i'd have to wear faece protection because my feace is my fortune.
Re: TwitterMusk
Thank God we left the EU, otherwise Threads wouldn't be launching here tomorrow. BREXIT BONANZA1!

Re: TwitterMusk
If you've got an Instagram account, search term 'Threads' on there, then click on that brown ticket icon, that then takes you to threads.net, whereupon you see a countdown clock, displaying (03:51:07)
Um... okay... good? Bad? Other?
Um... okay... good? Bad? Other?
Re: TwitterMusk
The Brown Ticket sounds like it should be some mildly horrifying urban legend
Re: TwitterMusk
Threads doesn't stand a chance next to my new social media platform, "Grave of the Fireflies"
Re: TwitterMusk
Has anyone managed to sign up to Teralds? If so, what's it like?
Re: TwitterMusk
I mean, I haven’t tried it, buts it’s going to be, isn’t it?
Re: TwitterMusk
Oh, definitely! I was just curious!
Re: TwitterMusk
They should call it Brands
Re: TwitterMusk
Just go all out and make it the most corporate social medium ever
Re: TwitterMusk
Just brands talking to brands about brands forever, 100% pure uncut advertising on and on without end
Re: TwitterMusk
It will be beautiful.

I drive past Wolverhampton regularly. I'll pop in and grab mine.
Re: TwitterMusk
Bostin!
Re: TwitterMusk
I'm going to tweet / upload another 8 (actually 13!) things, and that'll do for me.
Re: TwitterMusk
I'm trying to gee myself up to edit together Krentz EP 03, but it's made up of five individual files, and uses one or two Actionscript tricks when viewing in .swf format, which don't record well in .avi / .mp4 form, so I think I'll leave that for another time.
