Re: TwitterMusk
I feel quite proud that I never had a twitter, even though sometimes it seemed like literally the only way to get a company to acknowledge your support request

Re: TwitterMusk
Perhaps we can position the shoutbox as the Twitter replacement

Re: TwitterMusk
Who's going to like all my shit tweets now? And Lemon's cats
Re: TwitterMusk
I do kind of wish I’d hung around longer and got banned for changing my name to Elon musk
Re: TwitterMusk
I'm hanging on Twitters for a bit, as I've got summat new/mental to promote to wild applause and cheers!
Re: TwitterMusk
Verge Editor Alex Heath: "Hearing from multiple employees that the odds of Twitter breaking in the near future are very high."
Only Flash can save Twitter now, Mush.

Re: TwitterMusk
World cups always kill whatever social media sites of the day as 6 trillion people all post abuse at the exact same time at everyone they can (players, fans, managers, referees, VAR, commentators, themselves, the ball, those little cars driving the ball to the centre circle, the lack of those little cars driving the ball to the centre circle, adverts, whatever the bbc puts on instead of the adverts, and so on, and so forth)
Re: TwitterMusk
Luckily miniature cars are illegal in Qatar
Re: TwitterMusk
Heh!
Re: TwitterMusk
Reports of my (Twitteur's) death have been greatly exaggerated!
Well, Twitter looked fine when I had a butchers at it earlier.
And how long has it had a 'nag screen' of the 'log in / sign up' variety, anyways?
Re: TwitterMusk
This (imo) is marvellous!

I actually came here to post that. I love the way the bottle has "PISS" on it, like a cartoon we'd do
Also: "EPSTEIN FLIGHT LOGS"

Re: TwitterMusk
That is good!
Yesterday he tweeted that if the Google and Apple stores remove Twitter (due to his firing of all security teams violating international law or whatever) then he'd simply "make his own alternative phone"
Which made me laugh and laugh

I bet the Telsa phone would explod upon touch. And give you directions that enable you to drive over people.

prompted me to look at cAb for the first time in a while and enjoying all the drama there right now.
Cthulu bum you!
Re: TwitterMusk
It shows how observant I am - I read cAb everyday, and I haven't noticed that much drama! Durrrrrrrrrr!

Re: TwitterMusk
I saw it just before it got deleted - about time those particular people were told to wind their necks in.

Oo!
Re: TwitterMusk
Mastodon's fine, if still idiosyncratic, but I don't think I can be arsed with it, really. I much prefer forums, and always will do, I think.blombluss wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 12:21 pm I think this is me:

Mastodon is as confusing as a very confusing thing, imo.
Re: TwitterMusk
Forums are the one true mode of communication
Re: TwitterMusk
I think I even prefer the Newgrounds forums to Twitter/Mastodon, and NG's forums are full of youthful lunatics.
Re: TwitterMusk
I've rejigged my olde homputersarts twitter account, and now it's: https://twitter.com/blombluss
I won't be using it much, mind, but if any lovely n3ta types want twitter likes and retweets, I'm yer man!

Re: TwitterMusk
I'm tempted to get rid of Twitter. There are a few people I like chatting to. I can chat in other places though. Some of the nuances with mastodon just make it a bit naff. Like clicking a follower from a different server and only being able to see a couple of posts.
Re: TwitterMusk
I keep saying I prefer forums, but then forget to pop back here. I'm sorry.
Re: TwitterMusk
I quite like mastodon, mostly because Twitter was always too big and open and I felt shy about posting much on there, I don't feel like I'm as open and exposed on mastodon
the different server quirks are definitely a little odd though. I signed up in 2017 and thought "I'll try this again when it improves". it's still basically the same five years later

Re: TwitterMusk
I see Hive has been temporarily shut down due to security issues. I wonder if that was the work of Muskrats?
Re: TwitterMusk
I think it was just a very bad website. I saw an article about how you could edit other people's messages...
Re: TwitterMusk
Oh, did they think that by making it app only, they wouldn't need to add any authentication? It wasn't nice to use.
Re: TwitterMusk
That's exactly how I feel about forums!vom wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 6:00 pm I quite like mastodon, mostly because Twitter was always too big and open and I felt shy about posting much on there, I don't feel like I'm as open and exposed on mastodon

Re: TwitterMusk
One thing with Twitter/discord/etc, if you're away for a few days, you're lost as far as the conversation goes. At least with forums everything is easier to follow
Re: TwitterMusk
Good point!
Also, when I'm onna forum, I feel like a member, and equal to everyone else. On social media, I feel more like a follower, and my ego isn't always down with that.

Re: TwitterMusk
Latest update: Musk fired a load of Twitter HQ janitors who were unionized, the remaining ones went on strike, then he fired the rest of them. Three weeks before Christmas. Apparently it was down to the cleaning company being told that their services were no longer required, but not offering severances or advance notice and stuff like that.
They've now joined the picket line outside Twitter's main offices in San Francisco, while Musk continues to glug back piss and fuck dogs.
Also I missed the CaB drama, what happened there?

I hope Elon Musk's head expands exponentially until he can't get out of his room ever again
Re: TwitterMusk
You know who Musk reminds me of? CEO Denholm Reynholm out of The IT Crowd. The same kinda energy.

Re: TwitterMusk
Though you can't imagine Musk being remotely capable of coming out with something like "Where now for man raised by puffins?". The best he can do is hold up a sink as a visual pun to something that doesn't properly apply to the situation.
