Also I'm up to S in the alphabetical listening I've been doing for most of the last year. Today I have been on Silver Mt Zion then Silver Sun and now Six By Seven, it has been most pleasurable.

Re: Moo Sick Therad
Haha yes I saw that, she was all like "I have THREE HUNDRED" and there I was on six-hundred-and-something and still going with nobody paying attention to me at all

Re: Moo Sick Therad
I remember getting pretty bored of Six by Seven after their first album, but I still really, really love this song:

Re: Moo Sick Therad
i'm not sure if i can remember any six by seven songs at all, weirdly. but that one was indeed great hooray
Re: Moo Sick Therad
the first album is all very krautrocky but then they went more straightforwardly indie-punk sort of sound afterwards and were never as interesting again
but for some reason I kept buying their albums anyway
as will become clear tomorrow when I trudge through all of them

Super Ball (スーパーボール) - Teenage Superstar On Stage (better quality)
I have uploaded this odd experimental music / performance art VHS tape. Someone already put their own rip of it up but theirs had all sorts of problems (and was weirdly sped up) so this is an upgrade. It's in black and white because it's an NTSC tape and I have a PAL VCR that has to do a weird hacky thing to display it, but it is otherwise intact, and is downright peculiar.

I don't know why I had to approve this post but not the other post you just made, Candy, but I did.

Maybe it contains the forbidden words

i approved the previous post
Re: Moo Sick Therad
Also this video's great and strangely soothing
Re: Moo Sick Therad
At one point when I first had a dvd player, the scart socket in my tv didn't work, so I had to run it through the scart socket in my video player, and then through the rf socket of that to the tv, which kicked in some sort of copy protection on about 50% of all DVDs, meaning that everything had this strange weird colour pulsing going on most of the time.CandyDarling wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:14 am Super Ball (スーパーボール) - Teenage Superstar On Stage (better quality)

Anyway the first dvd i watched through this configuration was Ring, so I never even noticed anything was wrong, and just thought they'd taken the VHS tape conceit of the film to encompass absolutely everything about it, so that it was intentionally an unwatchable mess
But then I watched something else and realised it was not intentional at all
Re: Moo Sick Therad
Ring was definitely 7000% improved the way I watched it
Re: Moo Sick Therad
I've probably said all that before, but new n3ta means we can re-use all our old content for free now
Re: Moo Sick Therad
That's a positive review quote to put on the back of the video case, isn't it?

To-day, I listened to my 7 year old nephew making TB-303-style 'acid' warbles on his phone.

Re: Moo Sick Therad
This is sort of music related - it's a video of an Australian man demonstrating a Yamaha toy keyboard, which I got that exact same model of as a Christmas present one year in the 80s:

And this is a spoken word track by an infamous US noise rock band that uses the demo function of that same keyboard:
Strangulated Beatoffs - Everybody Loves The Circus
(I may have posted about this before on the old board)

Re: Moo Sick Therad
Nice. I have the VSS-200 which I think is basically the same sampling "engine" but with more presets. It's pretty fun but not as immediately straightforward to use as the SK-5.
Re: Moo Sick Therad
When I am King, only 8 bit sampling will be allowed.

The Flying Lizards: Summertime Blues

I mean it barely, and I do mean BARELY, hangs together in places, but I cannae stop listening to it. 'Money' sounds like a lush Trevor Horn production, in comparison!

Re: Moo Sick Therad
also even the little paper slipcases the cds come in are cut to look like the ones records come in, which makes them look about 87% nicer than standard cd paper slipcases

This is an absolutely astounding forgotten track from the bloke who did "Kung Fu Fighting" (as in, "it was a little bit frightening"). It's like a parody but it was an actual single and everything:

Re: Moo Sick Therad
My son, who turned 6 on Tuesday (lawks, where does the time go? Etc.), has discovered Guns N Roses, so we've been listening to Sweet Child O Mine in the car. A lot. He also loves Rush. And 8-bit video-game music. If he finds a song he really likes I add it to his playlist on my phone. He's got about 20 songs on it now, so at least there's a bit of variety.
