Thank ye all. I have ate cake and been to the gym and opened cards and presents at family via the medium of Skype. I'm off work this week and next week, although I still seem to be doing bits of work this week anyway. I hope to stop this after tonight.

Thank you Richard. I am excused words today due to being on leave. Back to work tomorrow, then off for another two weeks, with a third week to follow in December in the run-up to Christmas. I am living the life of Riley by dint of never going on holiday. Today has mostly been spent shopping, but I suppose that's more constructive than it might have been. My niece sang Happy Birthday very nicely when I spoke to everyone over Skype earlier.

Thank ye all. I have had the usual extended birthday: Ehis visited two weeks ago, I had a party with various friends last weekend, and tomorrow the family descends on my sister's house for fish and chips and probably cake. My dad accidentally told me what my birthday present is yesterday, but I will have to pretend I don't know otherwise my mum will get annoyed with him. Hooray!
