Today's Match of the Day robot subtitles were amazing: in a mad 90 seconds, Ingrid Bergman, Ava Gardner, Barbara Stanwyck, Danny Kaye and John Wayne were all apparently playing in Southampton vs Brighton, though I'm not sure who for.

Excé!

That said, I don't think Barbara Stanwyck suits playing in the 'False 9' role.

From the sounds of it, wolves' goalie just suffered the same sort of head injury Jiminez suffered earlier in the season, which is pretty horrifying. Hope he's okay

PFA appoints Maheta Molango to replace Gordon Taylor as leader
Swiss former striker appointed by independent panel
Molango will become one of football’s most senior black figures
Molango started his career at Atlético Madrid – though he never made a senior appearance for the club – before spending three years as a player in England 15 years ago. After his retirement he retrained as a lawyer before being appointed as the chief executive of Real Mallorca in 2016.
Fair play and kudos to the PFA, but I've gotta admit.. WHO?!?!

spurs losing 3-0 after having won the first leg 2-0 to go out of europe to a croatian team whose manager was just sent to prison for four years is some pretty impressive spursing, even for spurs

Oh no Peter Lorimer RIP. :( I was a bit frightened of Peter Lorimer when I was little, because my Dad reckoned that Lorimer could kick the leather orb so hard, it could possibly kill someone should it hit them in an unexpected and unfortunate way.

Belgian soccer clubs favor merger with Netherlands teams

If this happan, then all the olde Rangers & Celtic moving to the English Premier League hype will reignite, I presume.

Oh no Frank Worthington dead. :(

I remember reading something ages ago about his one-time club manager Ian Greaves, and it went (I think) something along the lines of:

Greaves: I was giving Frank a bollocking on the side of the training pitch, because I didn't think he was applying himself enough, and as I'm giving him the verbals, he's just eyeballing me, whilst keeping two footballs up in the air without even looking down once at what he's doing. I thought: "How can I tear a strip off this guy when he can do something like that so easily?"

Heh! I find Aston Villa annoying, for some reason. West Brom are fine, as are Walsall. Birmingham City are merely to be pitied, but Villa just irk me up good, dude.

this was the only time germany have ever lost a world cup qualifier (5-1 to england 20 years ago, and 1-0 to portugal in 85, when they were already through), so this is presumably the biggest shock result ever really.

Also, I only discovered last night that my Mom had a Polish uncle.

You'd think that'd crop up as worth mentioning at sometime prior to last night, wouldn't you? Maybe 10 to 20 to 30 years ago, p'raps?!? :)
