Soccerball Therad
Re: Soccerball Therad
They were doing well til captain Wat Tyler was suddenly replaced with no explanation
Re: Soccerball Therad
I think the whole Wat Tyler thing was something to do with 'image rights' ownership or summat.
Re: Soccerball Therad
Off-field disciplinary reasons
Re: Soccerball Therad
I think Wolves might already be on holiday.

Re: Soccerball Therad
Gawd, it's bit weird seeing fans back in the stadium (League Cup final).
Re: Soccerball Therad
woo man city won league cupzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Re: Soccerball Therad
It seems strange that less than a week after it was announced, all football coverage has forgotten the super league was ever mentioned and everythings just gone back to normal everythings okay everythings fine
Re: Soccerball Therad
Troo. I presume we won't be getting any more Sky-sanctioned rants from Gary Neville on modern football's financial ills.
Re: Soccerball Therad
I presume Arsenal being kinda owned by Spotify (should the takeover happen) would be better than having Stan Kroenke at the helm?
Would it end up being summat like: Stream the latest song by Janet Jacksons 2 billion times, and we'll buy a new left back with the proceeds?

Re: Soccerball Therad
Never liked spotify, nor the idea behind it. Paying a subscription to listen to music that you could quite easily and more cheaply buy outright just seems wrong and pointless to me
Re: Soccerball Therad
Agreed, Sir.
Re: Soccerball Therad
yep spotify is sinister and horrible
they seem to actively hate music and musicians and not even hide their contempt

Re: Soccerball Therad
which is why he'll be the perfect person to own arsenal
Re: Soccerball Therad
yes
also Spotify has never turned a profit at any point in its existence so that seems like a sensible income to spend on a football team

Re: Soccerball Therad
It is strange howall tech companies hate the very things that they make money off. spotify hate music, musicians; amazon hate books, writers, publishers, readers; uber hate taxi drivers, taxis; facebook and twitter despise absolutely all of humanity
Re: Soccerball Therad
medium hates mediums
Re: Soccerball Therad
and nobody has ever hated anybody as completely as ebay hates everyone who has ever attempted to sell anything on ebay
Re: Soccerball Therad
bandcamp still loves musicians
lovely bandcamp
lovely bandcamp
Re: Soccerball Therad
Yes. Hooray for bandcamp
Re: Soccerball Therad
they should buy Southend
Re: Soccerball Therad
Southend don't deserve anyone that nice
Re: Soccerball Therad
(somehow southend still aren't actually relegated, even though i was sure theyw ere relegated last week when they lost to colchester. but they inch ever closer to death)
Re: Soccerball Therad
at the moment, they need to win their two games, need the other team to lose their two games, and also for their to be at least a 9 goal swing in goal difference off those four matches
Re: Soccerball Therad
i do not think that is very likely
Re: Soccerball Therad
I'm glad i'm not the only one that hates spotify and everything it stands for. I just couldn't put it as eloquently as you two.
Also they destroyed last.fm and i quite liked last.fm for a while. Discovered some nice music through them

Re: Soccerball Therad
i was thinking about last.fm/audioscrobbler the other day (presumably to last month's old photo madness). my final year project at university was a music recommendation algorithm thing based off it
Re: Soccerball Therad
if only i'd turned that into a billion dollar hell company extracting the worth out of everything i have ever loved until all is naught but husk
Re: Soccerball Therad
Maaan, I haven't thought about Last.fm in years! I liked it, also.
Also, if dng had become a dotcom billionaire, he would've had to have married Grimes. And also bought Southend United. And then relocated himself, Grimes, and Southend United to an enormous artificial island off the coast of Africa. It would've been brillent!

Re: Soccerball Therad
As a southend fan and essexman, the only acceptable popstar wife would alison moyet
Re: Soccerball Therad
the rest of your scenario would have proceeded as planned
Re: Soccerball Therad
Ouch!
Re: Soccerball Therad
Talking 'bout relegation...
I see potential England manager Wayne Rooney's Derby County are in rather a pickle.
How odd. How can this be? For is it not written that all high profile England international footballers will become very good managers?

Re: Soccerball Therad
Hopefully man united get relegated now for interfering with sky's broadcast schedule (the most important part of football)
Re: Soccerball Therad
relegate them all the way down to the conference instead of southend
Re: Soccerball Therad
even then southend would probably lose next weekend and go down instead of grimsby
Re: Soccerball Therad
The match would've probably been rubb anyway.
Re: Soccerball Therad
They should have played it anyway, like when you're kids and you have to avoid everybody that keeps walking across the field
Re: Soccerball Therad
all the drunks trying to steal the ball
Re: Soccerball Therad
all the dogs furiously chasing the ball
Re: Soccerball Therad
resolute seagull who will not be moved
Re: Soccerball Therad
I've never had that, but I have played in a game where a wandering drunk threw up on the pitch (near the centre circle).
A group of us went down to the kids play area sandpit and filled up two large bags with sand, and deposited that on the pitchvomit. That mostly did the trick.
Re: Soccerball Therad
So... Citeh in the final, then...
Re: Soccerball Therad
football is dead
Re: Soccerball Therad
Talking about dead football, I see Jose has rocked up at Roma!
