Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
FND was an odd one for me - I liked approximately 50% of most episodes, but there was always something in each episode, be it a plot line, swearing or unpleasantness between characters, that put me off the show!

Every episode of Space 1999 is on BritBox. Crikey, Martin Landau is dull.
Cthulu bum you!
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I didn't know BritBox was still going - I thought it'd morphed into ITVX or summat.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I thought the first couple of episodes were a bit poor but started to really like it once Blackbeard turned up. Then it starts to be quite funny in a cosy sort of way.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
black panther 2: shite, basically. but very very long shite
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
this had namor in it for some reason, and really desperately needed doctor doom to turn up and toot on his horn. but he did not
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
instead there was half hour of martin freeman bumbling around for no reason at all
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
anyway, my sisters cancelled her disney plus subscription so presumably i'll never see another marvel film again now
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
i'll have to move onto dc movies now
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
(then the sweet oblivion of death)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I probably enjoyed Aquaman more than most of the marvel ones. It has an octopus playing the drums
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
also Willem Dafoe AND Dolph Lundgren
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
"dng recommended it."
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
surely that octopus should have got an oscar for playing willem defoe and dolph lundgren

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I have been watching the post-covid Marvel films with parents. So far we have watched Black Window (fine), Shang-Chi (quite good fun), Eternals (not as bad as I was expecting, but definitely a bit of a 'comic book film' throwback), Spidermans (more fun than good), and Doctor Strange 2 (I think this is our favourite). But I am a sap for comic book films.

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
haven't seen any of those
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
i really actively disliked dr strange 2 (rather than merely passively disliking most of the others)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
i liked the the first 2 thirds or so of shang chi though, and would probably watch another one of that if they make it
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
truly the film with everything!
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
If I simply must watch a film with Julie Andrews in it, then it has to be Thoroughly Modern Millie. Mr Miyagi off of The Karate Kid Part II, is also in it.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
My god, this film just wouldn't end. It had been on for 3 hours and the girls wanted to go to bed and there was still more than an hour left, and that took another 4 hours to watch.
The stuff that happened made no sense either.
Jesus christ it was dull.

Space Richard De Vere, as I know him.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I just watched The Beach for some reason, and there's a bit where Leonardo DiCaprio logs on to check his email and his username is just "Richard"
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
metropolis - the best film ever, obviously. especially the way its ultr futurism extends to the main bloke having the most awful 90s haircut ever

The Inbetweeners was the shittest and most overrated pile of cack on British TV since [NAME OF GERVAIS PROJECT HERE]
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I think I'd rather watch The Inbetweeners than a Gervais project. I'm not 100% sure 'bout that, though.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I'm currently pondering whether The Inbetweeners is better than Nearest & Dearest, starring Hylda Baker and Jimmy Jewel!
A valuable use of my time, I reckons!

Decision to leave - new park chan wook film, that's super stylish and also basically just vertigo. I liked it
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I liked it too

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
night tide - a very young dennis hopper falls in love with a woman who might or might not be an evil mermaid. the most remarkable thing about this film is that the young dennis hopper is played by thomas tuchel for some reason
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
today i watched edith walks, adocumentary thing where a woman dressed up as edith swan neck (who was king harold's wife maybe) walks from waltham (abbey) to st leonards on sea (where william the conqueror landed i think), while she's joined by iain sinclair and alan moore spouting absolute bollocks for an hour.
anyway it was rubbish really (although the woman dressed up as edith swan neck sang some songs and they were nice), but also mostly i only watched it for the sheer oddity of mubi recommending it to me today (on my last day of mubi), when tomorrow my brother moves from waltham (stow) to st leonards on sea. which for odd coincidences was pretty high on the odd scale i'd say

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
especially as this time last week i'd never even heard of st leonards on sea
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
and now you've been elected the new st leonard
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
it's about time
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Did it show King Harold's gravestone in Waltham Abbey?
