agreed

I watched one based on part of the magic flute as well which was pretty good, I liked Cinderella more though (also the other one was considerably less than a hundred years old, sickening)

rabid - early cronenberg film that i'd not seen for some reason. essentially the same as shivers, but also with soem lifeforce in there (in that the transmission vector for the zombi eplague is an often uneccessarily nude woman)

anyway it was good i liked it. lovely bleak 70s canada, sombre music (including one bit that sounded like some final fantasy 7 music) and a weirdly blank and empty central performance from the main bloke it it, which was probably just bad acting, but weirdly felt like the sort of realistic detached sort of nothingness that you'd probably actually display while driving round a canda on fire and covered in blood

he does do some shouting, crying at the end but that wasn't as good

for the absolute emotionless of all the rest though it reminded of th ewoman in assualt on precinct 13, who gives a similarly phenomenally flat performance while everyone else is overacting wildly

also one of the women in this has absolutely the most amazing pair of glasses i've ever seen.

like i'm not even sure what's going on with the frame of them at all

double also: one of my friends used to have a really faded videotape of this on a shelf just outside his bedroom in some weird connecting corridor bit of their strange labyrinthine house, so the cover image makes me feel all nostalgic for being 16 again, which is always a slightly terrible occurrence when that happens

This film is a 124 years old: La Lune à un mètre (1898)

I don't know why George Melies loved the moon so much, but I am glad he did.

A champion article, Davuss, although I had to stop watching the film on YT, as stop motion dead insects make me feel a little bit ikky. :(

I wonder if all the chap's other films utilise dead insects. I heop not.

A lovely and instructive article, that, davuss, although I don't think you mean "1992", do you?

"who took over directing duties from Pat Sullivan/Otto Messmer in 1992"

Also: Felix The Cat cartrons = generally a bit meh, imo.
