The School Prom

A white Rolls Royce pulled up near my gaffe, a few days back, and a few dressed to the nines kids piled into it, and headed off to their prom.

The nearest we had to such a thing was when our year was ferried in coaches to a nightclub for a daytime disco, which I really didn't enjoy because I felt rather out of my depth, as some others did, when I asked around.

The proms these days would've given the 15 year old me the absolute fear, I'm pretty sure.

Didn't go. I think only one of my friends did, and anecdotally it wasn't that well attended.
