i gave up on this because it was shit. but also now today i was reminded of it because i bought salt and sanctuary (its 84p on the PS4 for some reason), and this is dark souls, exactly, but in 2d

i'm not sure why plagiarism in games is okay if you change the amount of dimensions you use but it is for some reason

i also bought street fighter alpha 3 turbo or something (also 84p, approximately). i'd only ever gawped at this in the student union bar in 1999 or whenever before, but never actually played it. anyway its great, and maybe the last actual beautiful street fighter game before they decided that actually all the characters should be jaringly grotesque instead for some reason

further also, i got judgment the other week too, which is some yakuza spinoff where you "play" a detective, but he doesn't really do any detectiving and actually its just identical to the rest of the yakuza games. but in the arcade in this they had motor raid, which is basically f-zero but with motorbikes, and it's amazing. so marvellously 90s it almost made me cry

oh also whenever i look through the ultra cheap games on the ps4 shop, i'm always intrigued by the absolute shit garbage games that are always on sale for like 9p and just look completely genuinely insane

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kA26x3CtCM

i have no idea how/why these exist but one day i'm going to be brave enough to waste a whole pound buying them all

I bought Fifa 18 the other day (5p!) and then also today downloaded pro ego (now called efootball and free to play for some reason)

Anyway they're both shite obviously. Why are football games so slow and tedious? It's baffling

I have been playing the 3D remake of Colossal Cave Adventure by Roberta Williams. The original was one of the first ever text adventures from the late 70s. I'm quite enjoying it, despite the inevtiable "moon logic" puzzles. So far I've managed to rescue three treasures... and used a fourth one to buy some batteries from a vending machine for no reason at all. At the moment I'm not sure how I can get past a big dragon guarding its nest of gold.

Finally, finally, finally finished Wind Waker, 20 years after the first attempt (which was also the one that got furthest, before this one). Managed to save over my save game file with the new game quest file, but never mind.

I watched a video of UK computer game legend Jeff Minter, standing in a field, feeding biscuits to his donkey/sheeps/alpaca(?), yesterday, and it was sweet.

I hope The Bitmap Brothers, Kevin Toms, and Hideo Kojima do similar things, but underwater.
