I have covid for what might actually be the first time ever. Since I'd been planning on going back to parents for a few weeks in order to avoid mans coming to replace the pipework in here on Thursday, this is rather an inconvenience.

I feel pretty much OK at the moment, just mild cold symptoms. I only bothered testing because my sister tested positive this morning (with worse symptoms), and I saw her on Friday. The two friends we also saw on Friday (one of whom spent a long time in here with us as he was helping me measure the living room for new furniture) both seem to be fine.

The agency's put off the plumbing work in here till next Tuesday, and I've been able to order a food delivery for tomorrow (there's almost nothing left as I was running the fridge down so I could switch it off in my absence), so that's about as much as I could hope for in the circumstances.

Tested negative today, and feel more or less fine (just a bit tired), so I think that's that. The immersion heater for the hot water tank switched itself off three times (meaning a shockingly cold shower after switch-off #2), and the washing machine blew up for good measure, so it's been a funny day all round. Meanwhile, MYSTERY LEAK at my parents' house means there's going to have to be a lot of drilling to access the stopcock on the cold water inlet pipe for the house. I think I'm better off staying here, and just going into the office all day on Tuesday to avoid the comparatively minor ruckus.

Nearly half of my relatives have come down with something that they're insistent isn't Covid, but none of them have bothered to test themselves.

And that's why they're not allowed in the hice!

Because a few days later the surgeon's assistant was coughing and sneezing on the phone call and then she had to reschedule her appointment because she was sick.
