I got boosted yesterday. Was impressed by the speed this time, I arrived at Matlock Town FC about 20 minutes early and was in and out within five minutes. No real side effects to report, again - slightly sore arm, mild hangover. But the latter is probably from the can of 14% barrel-aged barley wine rather than the vaccine

Father's boosterjab was booked for today, but he was turned away at the clinic because it hasn't been exactly three months (13 weeks / 91 days) since his last one, even though he outright asked the person making the booking and was told it was fine. Given how much of a struggle it is for him to have the things done, he was quite reasonably very pissed off.

Father had his third jib last Saturday, not without some logistical confusion yet again.

In other news, my niece's childminder had Covid the week before sister and family came to visit our parents / return me to Oxford. Today my niece tested positive, as did my (completely symptomless) sister. Her in-laws visited for a few days this week to babysit, and her mother in law has also tested positive. I'm now pretty sure I know why my parents and I have had mild cold symptoms for the past few days.

A local councillor came knocking earlier, and in response to my bleating has kindly brought round a testing kit. However, it's not a complete testing kit, so I can't actually do any testing (this took me a while to establish, because I've managed to get this far without ever doing a test or knowing anything about them). In the bin it goes.

Further investigation suggests that sister's mother in law is the familial Patient Zero, and the chronology would therefore indicate that my parents and I have something else, possibly acquired from niece last week, and probably just a cold.

Niece is much better, sister did develop symptoms but they're already going, but brother in law is now rather unwell.
