They've lifted it now, and it seems to be down to that thing you said when you first start on the site. However what's happened now is that they've used the 6 quid I earned to pay the people I'm already pledging to - which makes sense, though it's incredibly anti-climatic.

Here is a new public post, which is a short film that I released publically due to promotional needs. It has my first ever Executive Producer credit! (Which is someone else's credit, a person from my Patreon on the £5 tier, in case that wasn't clear, which it probably wasn't).

Oh, and EPILEPSY WARNING for some of this (including the very beginning)

Magic Spools

How this came to be, in nine easy steps:

1) A horrifying old ad featuring some grotesque puppets at 360p
2) Ad is cut into one-second-and-an-extra-frame-long chunks
3) Each chunk repeated four times
4) Each looped segment arranged in reverse order
5) Rendered out to a separate file, re-imported to editor
6) New file added to end of project and reversed
7) Reversed part copied and pasted to end of previous
8) Un-reversed version put on track above copy of reverse
9) Blend mode of un-reversed clip set to Multiply

Thank you! Also I just put that "Generic Rave" track out through Distrokid's systems as a single, as you seemed to like it so much AND as a way to get my full name registered in Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

(And also because there are two other Michelle Lyonses, one of whom is a physiotherapist or something, while the other has been in local US news a bit recently as someone who is a journalist who has investigated loads of executions in Texas, so I thought I had better differentiate myself from them and not cause embarrassment / confusion to the latter).

Here is a thirty second preview of the streaming version of Generic Rave, which is practically identical to the existing upload, and will be pointlessly replicated on Youtube Music in due time. Although it will be uploaded under my own record label name they allow, which I have called "Other Records Are Available Records".

A couple of years ago when i was making some william burroughs cut up things, I accidentally signed up to "academia.edu" because they appeared to have the full text of some of his stories as pdfs, but actually they weren't pdfs of his stories at all but academic papers about his stories that unhelpfully were just named identically to his stories.

anyway ever since then academia.edu send me an email once a week asking me if i'm the david guy who was the author/co-author of some random paper in their system.

Under my deadname, I was once confused with someone who was also British and did some sort of avant garde music, but they were based in Berlin, and were convinced that this one really silly album I made was some sort of troll / attack on them. That album accidentally got listed amongst his other things on Discogs, I recall

If you don't recall, it's the early 90s "baggy" pastiche thing. It has new vocals replacing the samples, and a freakout style bit towards the end.
