Also I have a polaroid camera somewhere but the film is so expensive that I'm too afraid to ever use it.

That's great. Which camera is that - is it this thing?

I also watched The Sure Thing, which was quite a sweet film about teenage John Cusack trying to have sex.

Gravid

Although I did feel like the internet was definitely going to spoil it for me which is part of the reason I went to see it sooner rather than later.

Gravid

I think it’s still worth watching, although that’s a shame. There’s not really that much to spoil after the first 30 minutes or so.

Gravid

Digger: I thought this was good, I don’t really know what everyone is complaining about.

Gravid

Poor old Croatia

Gravid

I watched the first series of Ted Lasso and thought it was fine, then never watched or thought about it ever again.

Gravid

I watched Jason and the Argonuats yesterday, because it is the best. I think the five best best things in Jason and the Argonauts probably are:

1. Skeletons
2. Talos
3. Harpies
4. Hydra
5. Jason's amazing dubbed voice

We watched it a few years ago with my older son and Talos the giant statue ...

Gravid

Oh no. Very sad that they didn't make it far enough to capture the peak of human civilisation (1998).

Gravid

Who wants to do that anyway

Gravid

Also hello hello. I'm going back into my hole now.

Gravid

No one seems to know (other than them, presumably); Rab was doing Patreon-exculsive stuff in the summer to tide them over, but that dried up as well. The suspicion is that the real-life stuff they alluded to earlier in the year (Rab moving house, Ryan having some sort of crisis) has got in the way ...

Gravid

They only got as far as 1994. Just when it was getting good!

Gravid

I watched a Woody Allen film. It was Bullets Over Broadway. I thought it was a lot of fun, but one of the themes of the film was 'can you separate the art from the artist', which was maybe a bit on the nose.

Gravid

I was quite enjoying CVXX, even though it was a bit boring.

Gravid

hello

Gravid

What happened to Consolevania then? They seemed to be getting increasingly disheartened that they weren't getting more viewers, and then just stopped?

Gravid

Also I watched Elf for the first time last Christmas and thought it was surprisingly really good?

Gravid

I'm not sure if Will & Harper really counts as a Will Ferrell film, but I liked it.

Gravid

I have watched one (1) episode so far. I like it a lot.

Gravid

Left-Handed Girl - this was great, really lovely. The little girl was really excellent.

Gravid

Nationwide still insist on a card reader, too. It's awful. I much prefer paying for things with my face.

Also a new, completely chaotic charity shop opened near me recently, and for some reason they had one of these for sale at a low, low price. Bargain!

Which is a competition between Marty Supreme and the last hour of Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning

Gravid

Definitely the best film I've seen in 2026, anyway.

I think this is one of the best films I've ever seen???

Where is David Batty? The answer will shock you!!!

(He's at home.)

2025 is the year I started playing Hollow Knight. I'm finding that hard enough, so think I might just ignore Silksong altogether.

The best film I saw at the cinema was probably One Battle After Another, or maybe The Phoenician Scheme. The worst film I saw at the cinema was The Polar Express.

Yes

Gravid

Actually it’s been ok. Merry crubmas one and all.

Gravid

Oh god no

Gravid

The process is more exciting than it used to be because they no longer bag up the tree for you using the special machine, as they don't have one of those anymore, so you just have to pick a pre-bagged one and hope it's not a super weird shape when you get it home.

Gravid

I bought the traditional IKEA Christmas tree, and ate the traditional Christmas meatballs.

Gravid

I almost didn’t want Scotland to win that as they were so bad for so much of it, but they won me over by scoring a series of the best goals in history.

Gravid

Well done Bruce. Well done indeed.

Gravid

I keep getting email receipts for a car rental agreement from EGG HARBOR.

I wish I lived in EGG HARBOR.

Gravid

Although I'm considering spending £600 or whatever a PS5 costs to play GTA VI when that comes out next year. Even though that would obviously be an insane thing to do.

Gravid

I think I donated over £100 to the Shenmue III kickstarter in a moment of excitement. I've still never played it.

Gravid

Oh also I watched One Battle After Another which is also really good, obviously.

Gravid

I watched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem film again, because it's on Netflix now (although seemingly only for another couple of weeks). It's so good. In a similar way to the animated Spiderman films.

I also watched Good One. That is the title and that is my review.

Gravid

Spirit Tracks is one of the only Zelda games I've never played. Along with that one that was only on the 3DS as I never had a 3DS

Me too I think, apart from the NES ones, but I wasn't born then so I feel like I'm exempt. I didn't even know there was a 3DS one!?!?

Also I thought Skyward Sword ...

Gravid

I'm looking forward to spending an inexplicable amount of time tinkering with my fantasy football team, for absolutely no reason.

Gravid

I did go to the semi-final in the end and shouted a bit of encouragement, so I'm going to claim most of the credit for all this.

Gravid

Hooray

Gravid

Oh no. I couldn't bring myself to watch that.

Gravid

Although I guess I agree a completely chaotic penalty shootout is better than a very competent one.

Gravid

The best penalties are the ones where they absolutely smash it into the top corner, like Harry Maguire or Chloe Kelly.

Gravid

Yes I think that was the worst penalty shootout I've ever seen. There was one Sweden penalty that was basically perfect, and most of the rest were dreadful.

Also for some reason I'm going to be in (or at least very near) Geneva on Tuesday when England play Italy there, so I'm now trying to navigate ...

The gochujang advert genuinely confuses me because it’s like they know their ai phone will confidently present you with the steps to make some inedible recipe that it has imagined is the sort of thing humans like to eat, but also they’re presenting that as a useful feature somehow.
