knew it would be edge. yawn

Super Play was nice, with its Famitsu style. I always wondered if it was a uk mag because it was so different.

ACE was probably the best. Shame it didn't last long as i was a bit too young to appreciate it at the time

I thought A.C.E was damn good, as was The Games Machine, which ploughed a similar furrow, albeit a tad more humorous, if memory serves.

I found a 1994 edition of Computer Shopper at the bottom of a wardrobe - beat that CS Lewis!

While I obviously do think Zzap64 is the best C64 magazine, I think poor old dull Commodore Format should occasionally get a mention. It helped shape me into the tedious dreary man I am today.

I was all about YC when I first started buying / reading games magazines. They had "attitude"!
