Soccerball Therad
Re: Soccerball Therad
Exactly what they deserve for daring to beat southend 5-2 in the Anglo Italian cup group stage in 1993
Re: Soccerball Therad
The Anglo-Italian cup was my favourite part of the season in Championship Manager on the Amiga
Re: Soccerball Therad
I seem to recall that highlights of Anglo-Italian cup matches consisted solely of goals, violent play, and sendings off.
Bring it back, I say!

Re: Soccerball Therad
yes. whenever we went it would be either a mad goal fest or a0-0 draw with seven sendings off. and all in front of a crowd of about 77
Re: Soccerball Therad
Ha, I'd forgotten about the huge crowds.

Re: Soccerball Therad
After the first 20 minutes or so, there was a chilling inevitability to it, wasn't there?
Re: Soccerball Therad
i like the way that after going 3-0 up in by halftime in a champions league final and losing, ancelotti has decided that the best way to win it is to play like absolute shit for the first 45 minutes instead, thus ensuring inevitable victory
Re: Soccerball Therad
England beat the 22 players of both Bosnia AND Herzegovina tonight, which is impressive. I didn't watch it, though, as I was watching the C4 sitcom We Are Lady Parts 'bout a Muslim punk band.
Re: Soccerball Therad
i watched the second half. i'm not sure why

In another claim forming part of the suit, City are taking aim at the league’s voting rules. The requirement that 14 of 20 clubs must vote in favour of any proposal in order for it to be adopted has long been hailed as one of the competition’s strengths, meaning that clubs must align behind any change before it is implemented. According to the Times, however, City’s suit claims the voting system preserves “the tyranny of the majority”.
Re: Soccerball Therad
As utter shite as the Premier League are, they've got to take down Man City asap, otherwise English football will be controlled by the Middle East.
Re: Soccerball Therad
The premier league need to lure them into a new super league and then turn off the lights and run away
Re: Soccerball Therad
"Kevin De Bruyne has stated he may consider leaving Manchester City because of the “incredible money” on offer in Saudi Arabia, in a potential move that would be a blow to the Premier League champions."

This is all because Labour might tax his kids private school fees
Re: Soccerball Therad
that comment not quite the pointless non sequitur it looks like in that in the article I read earlier he said he had to think of whats best for his children "who ever only ever known england", which made it seem kind of ominous how potentially corrupted by that experience they might have been
Re: Soccerball Therad
Maybe he's moving his family to Saudi to escape the grip of ITV4?
Re: Soccerball Therad
I'd forgotten the Euros start on the 14th - yuss! That'll help me cope with the election!

Even John Henry is against the idea, surprisingly
although he's probably too busy playing his iRacing to care

Re: Soccerball Therad
The only time I've ever seen John Henry speak was when he was apologising about wanting to join the super league and he looked and sounded like that animatronic corpse that was used to electrocute people on the today today that time

I recorded the England match on a USB stick. After watching the game, I think I might need to immolate the memory stick so as to cleanse myself.

Re: Soccerball Therad
I've got a sneaky feeling Scotland might get a result against Germany, in the opening match tomorrow nacht.
Re: Soccerball Therad
The result being a 3-0 defeat
Re: Soccerball Therad
If you're correct, I'm going to drop an empty can of Irn Bru onto your left thigh, as punashment!
Re: Soccerball Therad
Andy Robertson to get booked under new uefa rules that looking furious counts as dissent now
Re: Soccerball Therad
And then sent off for still looking furious
Re: Soccerball Therad
And so on until he’s dead
Re: Soccerball Therad
Still looking furious obviously
Re: Soccerball Therad
Scotland somehow lucky to only lose 5-1
Re: Soccerball Therad
They were bloody awful. If you're playing poorly and/or can't compete with your opponents, put your foot in, make the match bitty, stick a big man up front and tonk it towards their head. Do something, try something. And I think Gunn should've stopped either the first or fifth goal, too.
Re: Soccerball Therad
Lovely eriksen
Re: Soccerball Therad
Lovely boring slightly useless strangely effective Southgate’s England
Re: Soccerball Therad
I thought England did well considering we played a fair chunk of the match with 9 players, plus Foden/Alexander Arnold.
And as for what Kane is meant to do in that system, gawd knows.
Also - Bellingham will definitely get sent off in the next two/three matches.

I was quite impressed by Austria, and their Chile Bielsa-era tribute act. And Romania looked pretty handy, too.
