Re: The Mews
Wow, Derbyshire Dales narrowly changed to Labour. My last vote in that constituency helped!
Re: The Mews
As I predicted, Suella got 30% and Labour, Lib Dem’s and reform all got 20% here
Re: The Mews

Re: The Mews
I very very vaguely know the new Penistone MP - she was (I think) an undergrad at college when I was doing my master's. She was an Oxford city councillor for a while, and I think she stood for my constituency once (but my constituency is a Con / Lib split with no hope for other parties at present).

Reform UK under pressure to prove all its candidates were real people

If I'd have known that some their candidates were puppets and claymation figures, I'd have definitely voted for them.

Re: The Mews
To tie in with his Victorian-era delusions, the documentary should actually be a Pollock's toy theatre performance in front of no more than 20 wealthy industrialists, high ranking members of the Church, and aristocrats.
Re: The Mews

Re: The Mews
I dunno whether it was staged or not, but with an incident like this, nothing would surprise me.

you can't even speculate that it might have been staged, or bbc fact-checking will smash your house down and hang you from a lamp post

Re: The Mews
Let us remember that a tasteless gag is much worse than attempting to overthrow the result of a legitimate election.

I suppose Kamala Harris for Biden is a good thing? (I know nowt about her)
Re: The Mews

Re: The Mews

"Harris enters the fray with numbers similar to President Biden', new poll finds"
-----
Now this is the bit that floors me:
-----
"Perhaps the poll’s biggest finding is that independents prefer Trump overall. He has 55% support from the critical group, compared to 41% for Harris."
-----
Who are these independents, then? The Waffen-SS?!?

"It’s possible that the asteroid may have broken away from a tiny, primitive ocean world that no longer exists in our solar system, the researchers said."
And it will destroy us all in 2182. Maybe. Hurrah!

Re: The Mews
Bennu. What a name for a planet destroying asteroid.
Re: The Mews
An asteroid who appeared as a long running and well loved behatted 'handyman' character in the soap opera Crossroads.
Re: The Mews
also: Bennu Hill, an asteroid being chased by a horde of angry meteors.
