I started the tape for this one, it ended up being Pretty Weird

https://write.fawm.org/songs/293595

Post by **blombluss** » Tue Feb 27, 2024 4:12 pm

I'm getting:

------------
That's an error.

"I hear you knockin' but you can't come in..."
------------

Which is pretty weird.

Oh right, they changed the privacy settings this year and whoever posted the final mix for this one is set to private I guess

Post by **blombluss** » Wed Feb 28, 2024 8:57 pm

This is the worse thing that happan since decimalisation!

Post by **vom** » Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:09 pm

a last-minute single-take song that I'll hopefully re-record at some point because it's quite fun

I wasn't really expecting to "win" the challenge this year but now I'm only two songs away and it's a little tempting to try

Post by **blombluss** » Sun Apr 14, 2024 7:48 pm

Good work! Also, it's rather nicerer and warmerer on the ear than the orig (yes, I've just checked!)

Post by **vom** » Sun Apr 14, 2024 8:28 pm

the original is one of my favourite songs so I'm going to disagree with you there, but thanks anyway!

there is also a Nina Persson (from the Cardigans) cover that is very lovely

Post by **blombluss** » Mon May 13, 2024 2:52 pm

Very nice indeed, and I'm a little bit in love with that swishy swooshy synth.

Post by **vom** » Mon May 13, 2024 6:36 pm

thanks! that's my korg minilogue. it will probably feature on the next one too, I'm trying to do some more keyboard-heavy writing / recording because I've been a bit stuck on guitars recently and I need to shake things up a bit

Post by **blombluss** » Tue May 14, 2024 2:30 pm

Good-o! And if you do need to shake things up further, please avoid using the sax. I'm allergic to the saxophone!

Post by **vom** » Mon May 20, 2024 8:10 am

another one here. I struggled with this title / challenge and thought I might just give up, but then recorded something very quick at the last minute so set expectations looooooow

A pleasing listen, Sir, and a cover version-centric testament to the standard of brickwork of the new property!

Covered the one Weezer song that I like

Post by **blombluss** » Mon Dec 02, 2024 3:29 pm

The one Weezer song I like is Hash Pipe, but your cover is a reet good listen, Sir! *thumbs up*

Post by **vom** » Mon Dec 02, 2024 4:20 pm

ha, I covered that one about 20 years ago with an old band, as it happens. but apparently n3ta can't accept mp3 attachments so you'll just have to imagine how horrible it is
