The problem with old silent films is a combination of old terrible film being transferred to old terrible video being transferred to old terrible internet video means everything becomes a hellish conglomerate of a trillion different types of compression artefects, and by the time you try and watch it on some 80th iteration on youtube half of everyones faces have been erased and its impossible to see what anything is at all
When the films of Louise Brooks hit the 100 year old mark, I daresay I might post a photo or two of her for... er... no reason whatsoever... (Be still, my beating heart)
There's 32 films in this boxset. I don't know how long it takes before poor old fatty arbuckle is superseded by buster keaton, but i assume it didn't take long
looks like the first 13 are Arbuckles and presumably after that he was blacklisted forever. weep.
I ended up skipping forward to the Keaton ones because some of the Arbuckle ones are Not Very Good. but at least one of the ones that I watched is really great (NO SPOILERS ON WHICH ONE) and features Buster Keaton doing Facial Expressions
