The Museum Of Everyday Items

Post by dng »

here's a pointlessly dull archivale project I made

https://accumulationofthings.com/time/t ... day-items/

The Museum Of Everyday Items

The Museum Of Everyday Items (to be renamed The Museum Of Obsolete Objects in 2066) is a small collection of common yet otherwise unremarkable artefacts from contemporary Britain. All items were collected on June 23rd, 2016, at the moment of their use. They were kept in storage until the opening of the museum on June 23rd, 2026.

There are 36 objects in The Museum Of Everyday Items. Currently only available online, it awaits a permanent real world home.

This is lovely, Davuss! Congrats!

Also, there was an Easylife catalogue in our TV guide paper a week ago, and the catalogue inventory/photos haven't changed one bit in 10 years! :D

is The Vegetarian good? I've started trying to read all of the books on the Guardian's recent big list of the least shit novels and it's on there

(I am only allowing myself to buy them in charity shops because I enjoy a scavenger hunt)

I've read The Left Hand of Darkness and The Great Gatsby so far and now I'm reading The God of Small Things

(I had already a few others in The Past but not very many at all)

I've not seen that list. Does it have house of hell or city of thieves as the best book ever

I just want to say how delighted I am by this project and I hope you manage to set up an actual physical location for it one day

Also I've had to unsub from every single Patreon I'm on as I'm skint, so sorry about that David. I will resub to you when my finances are more stable

All words are lies, so the perfect book contains fewer lies than most.

Here's an equally pointless thing: a complete diary of the day before I turned 40

https://accumulationofthings.com/things ... -and-2359/

(a sort of sequel to the one I kept here: https://accumulationofthings.com/time/2 ... -notebook/ )

"BOOK."
