The Mews
Re: The Mews
Both the local and county went reform in my ward. But I think that just means the councils went from Tory to nobody.. Shudder. The reform man was stood outside the polling station in his suit.
Re: The Mews
In the borough election the reform man got more that the conservative and the labour man put together.
But on the other hand reform had actually bothered to bombard us with lots of leaflets with Nigel garages horrible frog face on so maybe that made a difference.

I gots 'Labour Hold', which could be worse, I guess.
Also, pleased for the dangerous far-left terrorist group that is Plaid Cymru, and the SNP in Écosse.

Radio Caroline?!?
Brittainicus should've blown up their pirate radio boats back in the 60s - blown them up with bombs shaped like Richard the III.

Modern day ceasefires appear to be a lot more explode-y, missile-y, and death-y, than old fashioned ceasefires.

PM Burn'em will save us all (no he won't).

I wonder how long it'll be before he goes from hero to zero and resigns

Lettuce time how long he'll last.

my dad heard this even though he's half deaf, my mum heard it even though she was making a cup of tea, but i didn't hear it, because i was playing a game and the ps4 is evidently too loud to hear a nuclear explosion over the top of it

Re: The Mews
I was at the Trans+ March today
https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/nationa ... isers-say/
I don't know if I was captured in any of the photos, I did walk past a bunch of professional photographers at one point. Amusingly the starting point was right outside the BBC's main building, Broadcasting House, and the BBC security guards were getting a bit nervous. At one point they put up a small yellow barrier up, as if were were going to storm the place and that was the one thing that would have prevented us
Incidentally, the BBC reported attendance initially as "thousands". When the organizers put out the official estimate of 150,000 (and I can believe that, there were so many people I knew there, and others who came from outside London on top of that) they amended their report to... "tens of thousands".
There were some really unintentionally funny moments from outsiders to the march. At least two heterosexual cis couples passed through the march to get to the other side of the road, which was of course allowed, but they looked really scared? Like we were going to turn all of them gay or something. Particularly the gammon-type man who looked really bug-eyed with a mix of anger and blind fear, and his stereotypically attractive blonde partner who also looked like she was shitting herself. Darling, you don't have to fear us, it's your fucking husband or whoever you should be worried about...
Also at one point some idiot tried to speak the word of god to us as we approached Trafalgar Square, which was met with universal laughter and derision and eventually drowned out with military drums and chants (the best one being FUCK JK ROWLING, which we shouted again and again, and it felt really good to yell that at the top of my lungs while walking right down the middle of Regent Street)
Also some people in some shops and the cast and crew of one West End musical waved to us in support and we waved back, which was nice. Also a lot of dogs about, loads of people brought along their dogs. One woman had her puppy sticking out of a bag, as it looked confused at all of us, uncomprehending of the things humans must do
Also there were a lot of genuinely really funny signs that people made. My favourite was "Hormones? I would hope he does"

Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.

Re: The Mews
The difference in price between the Cornish pasties I ordered from Sainsburys online, and the more expensive ones they delivered as a replacement, was 93p.
You then get issued a digital voucher for this amount which you use during your next order.
However... they have given me a digital voucher for the princely sum of... £2.31!
???
Will I go to jail if I make use of this incorrect Cornish pasty-related digital voucher?

The only rational course of action as far as I can see is to blow up the Channel Tunnel. And then fill the British channel up with FIRE!

I'm not clicking on that
Re: The Mews
I've already attacked three of my least favourite Johnny Halliday ice sculptures with a pickaxe, so I suppose it won't be long before the Gendarmes track me down...

Pfft - French is just badly pronounced Latin
Re: The Mews
And English is actually just badly pronounced German anyway

Re: The Mews
I find Dutch interesting, also. It almost sounds intelligible to the decent monoglot British men amongst us. And the same applies to Cockney...
