Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
okay i will
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
there seems to be thousands of pixar films on there i've not seen (well, 6 or 7 maybe i don't know)
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
They seem to be making them at quite a rate now. I think they’ve released 3 in the last year.
Just don’t watch the one about the dinosaur, which is from a while ago but I’d never heard of it, and is awful.

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I’ve actually seen that one, and yes, it is utterly abysmal
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Also I counted them up and there’s as many I haven’t seen as I have (12 each)
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I thought the dinosaur one was alright, although admittedly "alright" is pretty disappointing by Pixar standards
I think I've seen them all apart from the Cars sequels and the brand new one

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
The Predator - who knew they still made predator films. anyway even by the standards of predator films this was absolutely abysmal
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
There two new muppets serieses on Disney plus. One is from 2015, and is a tired pretend documentary series thing like the office/parks and recreation, with no funny jokes in it at all, and which is basically misconceived on every level.
The other one is a tired pretend youtube channel series, with no funny jokes in it at all, which is basically misconceived on every level, and also now Kermit’s voice is completely wrong and awful for some reason, to such an extent that he’s basically not even Kermit any more, he’s just some frog. Awful

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I managed one episode of each
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Even without the Kermit voice atrocity, the youtube one is so lazy and abysmal it’s just, urgh
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
The muppets never recovered from having gervais in it. Now they’re tainted forever.
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
They’ve gone from Kermit being Kermit, to Kermit being someone doing a Kermit impression, to Kermit being someone not even doing a Kermit impression. I don’t know why

That surely doesn’t stop them hiring someone who can sort of vaguely sound like kermit

The Dead Don't Die.
Another disappointing zombie film. Sigh. Come on.
The style and tone of this one just did not work. A few guitar strums a good Jarmusch movie do not make.

I seem to be the only person in the world who quite enjoyed that

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Hehehehe!
Also the thought of a Peterson spouting "Kermie" is shuddersome!
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I'm not sure i've ever heard jordan peterson speak
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
this is why i am so unenlightened
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
When I first heard the name 'Jordan Peterson', I presumed he was a young footballer at a middling Premier league team, on the cusp of being called up for the England squad. Now THAT, young Sir, is unenlightenment!
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Not enough Jordans in the england team yet. Definitely space for a few more

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Not that I could ever have taken Jordan Peterson seriously anyway, but I am baffled that anyone at all does when he sounds like that

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Am I wrong to have watched 'Yesterday' to-nacht, and have imagined a certain Mr. Vom Vorton in the title role?
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Apparently Yesterday was originally written as a story about a songwriter who discovered that he was the only person in the world who remembered the Beatles, but he still couldn't find a way to use this to become famous. And then Richard Curtis came along and made it into a feel-good film and pretended he wrote the whole thing.
Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
Also the differences in the story are explained by the original writer having had a long frustrating career and imagining this is how things would play out for him, and Richard Curtis having had Richard Curtis' career.

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
It was on TV yesterday. Anyway, I saw the very end and the credits, and it amused me that they still used the version of Hey Jude with the "ooh......fuck n ell" bit in it
Cthulu bum you!

They should make a film about a world where everyone in the world has forgotten james bond films

They should make a film about a wrold where everyone in the world has forgotten the 1960s so completely we don't even have the numbers 60-69 in our counting system any more

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I saw Richard Curtis once, he gave a nice speech at the memorial service for the former dean of my college at university, who had taught him at Harrow. But I am not watching any of his things ever again. I don't even like Blackadder.

Re: Motion Pictures (that amuse me)
I used to really like Blackadder, but now merely enjoy it. I find the scripts a tad clunky and basic, which, for me, limits their rewatchabilityness!Bruce Sato wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 2:57 pm I saw Richard Curtis once, he gave a nice speech at the memorial service for the former dean of my college at university, who had taught him at Harrow. Psycho Goreman
Low-ish budget sci-fi horror. A little girl finds a crystal buried in her garden that gives her power over a galactic super villain. Much hilarity ensues.
I was looking forward to this one. It was fun. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more violence and gore.

Cosmic Sin
Bruce Willis has no idea what he is doing in this dreadful sci-fi alien battle car crash.
If you have been putting off a task you really don't want to do, do that instead of watching this film.
