Hurrah for England!

I thought we just about deserved it against an impressive Danish team who pretty much ran out of steam at the 70 minute mark.

Why we didn't bring fresh legs on in the midfield/attack at that point and go for it, utterly baffled me, but we got there in the end via a debatable penalty.

And just as well, as Schmeichel looked rather immense between the sticks, especially in comparison to Pickford.

That said, I wouldn't say Pickford was particularly at fault for their goal, though.

I quite liked the way this was xactly a mirror image of the world cup semi final England lost, with the first goal being a free-kick, the team initially going ahead stopping playing football after about an hour and never having a shot again, and then they lose, to a winning goal in the first half of extra time, while then having to play all the second half of extra time with ten men due to no subs, too many injuries, and never even touching the ball at any point before the final whistle comes

The sighting seems to be an example of pareidolia - when an image is seen in an otherwise random or ambiguous visual pattern.
