Not so much for the image itself, but...
..there's something about this headline which makes me imagine it's being shouted at me in the street, in an aggressive monotone from the blank head of a large strange man standing in the middle of the road; he has a piercing gaze, and he sees all the wrong things.

Maybe they'll buy all the energy firms and re nationalise them

Maybe they will simply blockade all our letterboxes so the bills cannot get in

Re: Pictures that amuse me
The Pre New, a band featuring mostly the same members as Earl Brutus (and World Of Twist), did a much better job a couple of years ago, and it was a deliberately weird / post-postmodern affair for an album cover
Clearly communicating a combination of 70s British industry and the punk movement, with just one different foreground colour and a different background!
The band also did this 3D version, which feels like a deliberate pisstake of the kind of overthought corporate shash like the Emerald City thing that Rail Delivery Groups have come up with
Also I just googled for some news on this and got this article from the Guardian, which has this in it:

The group, which represents the industry, had wanted octogenarian designer of the original logo, Gerry Barney, to endorse the makeover. But when the Guardian showed him the recoloured version he was appalled.
“I think that’s rubbish,” he said. “I could understand it if they had just swapped red for green. But why on earth have they got that many colours? It’s a load of old bollocks. It’s just a mess.”

Hamster painting adorableness
More in the link above.
Japanese artist and art university graduate Gotte have turned their creative skills towards a very cool subject. Their light-hearted watercolor animal drawings depict a typical day in their adorable pet's life - a cute hamster named Sukeroku.
What's most charming about these cute drawings is the main character going about their typical day participating in activities that are inherently 'human.' And it is always adorable to imagine how would animals, especially as loveable as this hamster pet, would look like doing regular human chores. From fixing a meal to making a bed, this funny hamster seems to have a busy life day in and day out, but very adorable, nonetheless.

I have three pairs of jeans with shit fake pockets now. They're not sewed shut, but they could only conceivably hold a small parking ticket, or maybe a marble. And not both at the same time, either. I've taken to wearing a bum bag (or fanny pack, to use the US term) for now, although having actual pockets would be nice, Mr Fashion Industry.
(I'm still in the long long process of growing out my hair, and lasering off what remains of my beard - I had the second session the other week.)
I did have to briefly wear my Mum's handbag one day during my holiday at Center Parcs for convenience's sake / because I didn't care about looking "unmasculine", and at one point I passed two men who got outraged over it ("That's a handbag! A woman's handbag!!"). Seeing as it was the same Center Parcs that T***y R******n once got arrested at for kicking off at something or other, I moved on quickly.

Re: Pictures that amuse me
Ves. I've managed to accumulate several secondhand purses (mostly ones my wife was going to donate) but sometimes it's convenient to be able to stuff your keys in a pocket and go, and there's absolutely no reason those pockets can't be as deep as they were on my boyjeans. There's especially no goddamned reason to cut a pocket slit and stitch a hem around it and NOT ACTUALLY HAVE A POCKET.CandyDarling wrote: Tue Sep 28, 2021 7:36 pm I have three pairs of jeans with shit fake pockets now. How is the lasering? I've been doing electrolysis which seems to be slow going and feels like someone plucking each individual hair out and then stabbing me in the face with an electric needle because that's literally what it is but I'm pleased with the results.(I'm still in the long long process of growing out my hair, and lasering off what remains of my beard - I had the second session the other week.)

Re: Pictures that amuse me
It's been going quite well and relatively quickly. For the benefit of anyone curious, some people's hair / skin reacts better than others; depending on each individual's case, laser hair removal might not work out for them and electrolysis could be the better choice, but for me it's definitely working. I happen to have dark and very coarse hair against quite fair skin so the laser is able to zap the follicles with maximum efficiency. (Gray hairs don't really work with laser treatment, and can only be dealt with using electrolysis.) You do several rounds of it, with one happening every four weeks to get every last one (because hair grows in cycles). An Unicorn wrote: Tue Sep 28, 2021 11:08 pmHow is the lasering? By the time the second appointment was coming up, the beard around my chin had been reduced to various patches. After that appointment my mustache area is noticeably more sparse. For a period after treatment the hair will look as if it's growing back, but it's actually the hairs gradually pushing the remainder of themselves out of your skin until that round of it has completely gone.
The only real drawback with this treatment is the recovery period after each session. For two weeks after every one, I have to slather on sunblock to avoid UV rays damaging the skin, and if I don't have sunblock on I have to avoid direct sunlight. I also have to avoid excess heat on my face (such as from a hot shower) for the first couple of days, and can only wear mineral-based makeup for roughly the same amount of time. Also you have to wear goggles during the sessions to protect your eyes (because of the laser, obviously), which spooked me out to begin with.
I have been told the pain is more bearable than electrolysis, and for the more minor areas it does feel more like a slightly sharp sting. It does get really bloody painful around my chin and upper lip, but maybe that's because my hair is (or was?) so concentrated there. I'm told that the real changes start to happen after the third appointment, which will come next month. My skin is already becoming quite smooth despite the beard patches, so I'm looking forward to it!
