Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.

Re: The weeping thread
I always thought of that man as an American Roger Delgado. Except it turns out he was Canadian. And I was surprised to see that Simon Price of Melody Maker was friends with him! It makes sense in a weird way, but it's still unexpected
Also by the time I was a child I think they'd stopped repeating Fingerbobs for some reason and were making Fingermouse instead. Fingermouse (the show) was not as good because despite the presence of Fingermouse (the puppet), there was just some bloke with curly hair presenting it instead, who was a bit like a proto-Mr Tickle. Or at least that's how I recall that guy being like.

If/when the Queen passes, will the Govt shut down the Internet so that all her subjects will be forced to mourn via BBC/ITV/etc? It wouldn't surprise me.
I wish her no ill will, though.

Re: The weeping thread
He also did some of the fighting fantasy covers, including best bestiary ever out of the pit (and some of the full colour pages in out of the pit as well)
Re: The weeping thread
full colour pages!? I have never seen this
Re: The weeping thread
Really? The two copies of this I've ever had (a4 size, roughly, with a red cover) both had 8 full colour pictures in the middle. I just assumed it was standard.

You were a rockstar in the '70s, I'm pretty sure you injected worse things for breakfast and snorted them for lunch.
