just rewatched it, it's so fucking good.

some bits I particularly like:
* buster paints a nail on the wall for his hat
* buster throws his hat onto a hat rack without looking
* hats
* "september 1st will be the end of august!"
* that one intertitle that's just full of alliteration for no reason

I wasn't sure if you'd watch that one again, having reviewed it already, but I watched it again last night anyway and loved it again because it's lovely. Although I kinda don't like all of these horrible things happening to Buster and Sybil because they're so ridiculously cute together

I like this one a bit more than you did I think, but it's a big step down from the last two. Mostly I just like massive Joe Roberts murdering prison guards. The golf stuff is pretty wretched though which gets things off to a bad start

I think I've seen them all but I'm not entirely sure because before I had the box set I used to just occasionally find them on YouTube and not make a proper note. Definitely a lot of them I'll have only seen in crappy unrestored versions, anyway

I just watched The Scarecrow again and it's just the best thing in the world

especially when Buster's scarecrow act gets discovered and the post has been knocked down but he still tries to use it to hide again anyway

and obviously the whole of the house / pulleys thing

The bit where a movement under bed sheets is revealed to be a load of kittens is the best thing ever though

And the blackface jokes somehow don't feel actively racist for once
