Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I have fond memories of going to see the first one at my local cinema in 1987, and being mildly entertained
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I'll get you for this.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I've never seen it, and I don't know why.CandyDarling wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 11:14 pm I have fond memories of going to see the first one at my local cinema in 1987, and being mildly entertained
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
And it turns out that Skeletor (Jared Leto), is an absolute shitebag.blombluss wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 11:07 am I tried the new Masters of the Universe flop film vesterday, but I got bored after 20 minutes, so I ended up watching RLM's Half In The Bag review of it, instead, which was fun, and probably more fun than continuing with the film.

30 Seconds To Arse, more like.
Her father had been an engineer and she was also continuously 'playing with forbidden things', all of which contributed to her designated position.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Hasnt there been a variation of this Jared Leto news every single year for the entire 21st century?

Get Alan Oppenheimer to redub Skeletor.
Anybody who comes into the n3ta forest will be lost.
Everybody will become a Homfrus.
Everybody, Homfrus.
So, he's not here any more.

I watched Bullitt tonight, which I'd never seen before. Now at last I finally know the origin of all the driving games ever made
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)

Last night I saw this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jGYW1fzIw0
It was actually really really good! Under the jokes and gross out stuff there was some properly angry political commentary. Certain types in America should be forced to watch it, Ludovico Technique style

Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
excellent
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
ah excellent! that's on the programme for the local film festival I'm going to in a couple of months
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Today I remembered that the bloke who plays Dale was previously in a show called 'Reaper', which I enjoyed a few years back, so I re-watched the first couple of episodes, and enjoyed 'em.
Which was nice.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I watched the furious today, in which a man and another man must beat up all the every other mans in the whole of Asia. It was good
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
And intense
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
And absurdly violent
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I hope the sequel is called the fast
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I recently saw the trailer for Kung Fu Soccer - a sorta sequel to Shaolin Soccer. It didn't grab me, and it looked rather Playstation-y in places.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Just watched The End of Oak Street (2026). Imagine a 90 minute Jurassic Park in the suburbs B-movie, and you'll be on the right lines. Enjoyable toss - 7/10.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I went to see that on Monday and agree with your review. I think it could have been something special if they'd bothered to actually write any characters instead of just going "haha look it's the 80s, everyone has unflattering shorts" but it was still a fun Dino Romp
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I loved the big silent worm
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
i saw the trailer for that and had no idea it was supposed to be set in the 80s
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
why weren't they all wearing t-shirts that said "i love the 80s"?
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
"and am also living in the 80s"?
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
yeah it's very odd that the trailer didn't make a big thing of that, it very much seems to be trying to appeal to the Stranger Things nostalgia audience
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Very troo, although the Stranger Things vibe didn't fully click with me until I saw the lads on their bmxs.vom wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 8:45 am it very much seems to be trying to appeal to the Stranger Things nostalgia audience
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I seem to recall that in the 80s, stuff referencing the year 2000 seemed to be a thing.dng wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2026 8:00 am why weren't they all wearing t-shirts that said "i love the 80s"?
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I'd like to see that on Homes Under The Hammer!
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
Did they go to Tech Noir at any point
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
They did
not.
not.
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I bet one of the dinosaurs did (not pictured)
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I'm just waiting for Coyote vs. Acme to appear on my Yaaaaar High Seas website of choice, me hearties...
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
The Batman - did you ever think that the christian bale batman's were a bit too light hearted, brightly lit, and nowhere near long enough? then this is the film for you!
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
So I watched this last night, and a good time was had by all (me). It definitely deserved to see the light of day, so hurrah!blombluss wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 8:05 pm I'm just waiting for Coyote vs. Acme to appear on my Yaaaaar High Seas website of choice, me hearties...![]()
Some have winced a tad about the animation not being 2D, which is fair enough, but the cel-shaded 3D characters are nice enough on the eyes, imo.
A likeable 7.5/10
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I watched a film today (the summer book, an adaptation of a tove jansson book) and it was directed by charlie mcdowell, who'd i'd never heard of him before. anyway, he's apparently malcolm mcdowell's son, but also he somehow looks more like his dad than his dad ever did
which is an impressive trick

Gawd, ves!
Re: Motion Pictures (that anuse me)
I watched a Woody Allen film. It was Bullets Over Broadway. I thought it was a lot of fun, but one of the themes of the film was 'can you separate the art from the artist', which was maybe a bit on the nose.
