I have fond memories of going to see the first one at my local cinema in 1987, and being mildly entertained

And it turns out that Skeletor (Jared Leto), is an absolute shitebag.

Last night I saw this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jGYW1fzIw0

It was actually really really good! Under the jokes and gross out stuff there was some properly angry political commentary. Certain types in America should be forced to watch it, Ludovico Technique style

Today I remembered that the bloke who plays Dale was previously in a show called 'Reaper', which I enjoyed a few years back, so I re-watched the first couple of episodes, and enjoyed 'em.

Which was nice. :)

I recently saw the trailer for Kung Fu Soccer - a sorta sequel to Shaolin Soccer. It didn't grab me, and it looked rather Playstation-y in places.

Just watched The End of Oak Street (2026). Imagine a 90 minute Jurassic Park in the suburbs B-movie, and you'll be on the right lines. Enjoyable toss - 7/10. :D

I went to see that on Monday and agree with your review. I think it could have been something special if they'd bothered to actually write any characters instead of just going "haha look it's the 80s, everyone has unflattering shorts" but it was still a fun Dino Romp

yeah it's very odd that the trailer didn't make a big thing of that, it very much seems to be trying to appeal to the Stranger Things nostalgia audience

I seem to recall that in the 80s, stuff referencing the year 2000 seemed to be a thing. :)

So I watched this last night, and a good time was had by all (me). It definitely deserved to see the light of day, so hurrah!

Some have winced a tad about the animation not being 2D, which is fair enough, but the cel-shaded 3D characters are nice enough on the eyes, imo.

A likeable 7.5/10

I watched a film today (the summer book, an adaptation of a tove jansson book) and it was directed by charlie mcdowell, who'd i'd never heard of him before. anyway, he's apparently malcolm mcdowell's son, but also he somehow looks more like his dad than his dad ever did

I watched a Woody Allen film. It was Bullets Over Broadway. I thought it was a lot of fun, but one of the themes of the film was 'can you separate the art from the artist', which was maybe a bit on the nose.
